Whilst it is perfectly possible to while away the days in the house and garden, there is also a plethora of choice of activities available in the area, with Maison de Cyprès being perfectly located for excursions into both the Dordogne and the Charente.

The regions are home to numerous picturesque villages to explore, with activities ranging from visits to chateaux, abbeys, prehistoric caves, monolithic churches, golf, fishing, or for the more adventurous, canoeing & kayaking and if you are looking for the atmosphere of a city, Angouleme is only 40 minutes away.
